Ingredients
- Fresh coriander leaves (tightly packed) - 2 cups
- Fresh mint leaves (tightly packed) - 1 cup
- Tamarind extract - 2 tbsp
- Lemon juice - 3 tbsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Black salt - 1/2 tsp
- Dry ginger powder - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida powder - 1/4 tsp
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Soak mint leaves in water for 10 min; drain water.
- Wash mint leaves in water for 3 to 4 times; drain in colander & set aside.
- Soak coriander leaves in water for 10 min; drain water.
- Wash coriander leaves in water for 3 to 4 times; drain in colander & set aside.
- Blend both the washed & drained leaves in a mixie / blender adding quarter cup of water to a smooth paste.
- Add rest of the ingredients & blend well once again.
- Store in an air tight container & refrigerate for future use.
- Serves best along with all the chaat items, samosas, kachoris, dhoklas, bhel poori & also as a spread for bread sandwich.
