How to Cook Pasta?

Cooking Time: approx 10 to 11 min

Ingredients
  1. Pasta (Spaghetti) - 1 pkt
  2. Water - 5 liters (or) 25 cups of water (or) as suggested in the pack.
  3. Salt - 4 to 5 tsp
  4. Vegetable oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
All you need
  1. Large saucepan
  2. Pair of tongs
  3. Colander / Strainer
  4. Pot handler / Pincer
Method
  1. Bring water to boil add salt & oil.
  2. Use an appropriate pot / larger pot / larger saucepan to cook pasta.
  3. Add pasta now & cook for approx 10 to 11 min stirring occasionally in order to prevent pasta from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  4. Check out the packet for suggested cooking time.
  5. Pull out a piece of pasta with a pair of tongs & taste it.
  6. If its chewy yet firm in the center then its ready; referred to as al dente.
  7. Empty the entire pot of pasta into a strainer/colander.
  8. Drain & toss in 2 to 3 tsp of olive oil; do not rinse it in cold water.
  9. Now the pasta is ready to get cooked in to your favorite dish!
NOTE
  • Cooking time varies with each type of pasta; refer pack for details.
  • Never leave the pasta sit in hot water as it will continue to cook.
  • Reserve little amount of drained water from the cooked pasta as it can be used in diluting any thick sauce or in tossing & stirring together the cooked pasta on high heat with any sauce of your choice; this prevents the fats from being fried for too long.
