Cucumber Raita

Grated cucumbers mixed with spiced yogurt!!!

Other names - Pacha vellarikkai thayir pachadi / Kakdi nu raita

Serves: 2


Ingredients
  1. Cucumber - 1 medium sized
  2. Thick fresh yogurt - 1 cup
  3. Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tbsp
  4. Cumin powder (roasted & powdered) - 1 tsp
  5. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Sugar (optional) - 1 tsp
  7. Salt - to taste
Method
  1. Wash, peel, grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess water.
  2. Mix together yogurt, cilantro, roasted cumin powder, red chilly powder and salt.
  3. Add the grated cucumbers just before serving.
  4. Serve either chilled or at room temperature.
NOTE
  • Can also use chopped green chillies instead of red chilly powder.
