Masala Peanuts

Prep Time: 10 min (except drying time)
Cooking Time: 20 min
Serves: 2


Ingredients

  1. Roasted peanuts - 1.5 cups
  2. Besan - 1/2 cup
  3. Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  4. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Aamchoor powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Asafoetida powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Water - 1/2 to 1 cup
  11. Oil - to deep fry
  12. Salt - to taste
Method
  1. Mix in all the above mentioned ingredients evenly coating the peanuts; allow to dry for about half an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a wok on medium flame, sprinkle a handful of peanuts in to the hot oil one by one.
  3. Reduce flame to low & deep fry until golden brown.
  4. Remove and drain on to kitchen tissues.
  5. Serve along with a cup of hot tea or coffee.
NOTE
  • Masala peanuts become crisp only at room temperature.
  • Can also use raw peanuts for the recipe.
  • Store in a dry, air tight container for future use.
