Rasam Podi

Storage ~ 15 to 20 days
Grinding Equipment ~ Dry grinding mixie jar ~ Small jar


As for as the rasam podi is concerned, I always prepare it only in small quantities serving for a short period of time. This method imparts fresh aroma, divine flavor & exotic taste to the recipe than whole stock.

Ingredients
  1. Toor dhal - 1 tbsp
  2. Dhania - 3 tbsp
  3. Black peppercorns - 1 tsp
  4. Cumin seeds - 1.5 tsp
  5. Dry red chillies - 3 to 5
  6. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Method
  1. Wash mixie jar & wipe until no traces of water; place it under the fan to dry immediately.
  2. Grind all ingredients to fine powder in a mixie.
  3. Store in a dry air tight food grade plastic containers / Tupperware for further use.
NOTE
  • Always use a dry spoon.
