Alu & Kachalu Chaat

Other name - Potato & Sweet potato Chaat

Cooking Time: 15 min

Serves: 4


Ingredients
  1. Potatoes - 3 medium sized
  2. Sweet potatoes - 3 medium sized
  3. Green chillies (finely chopped) - 2
  4. Cilantro (finely chopped) - 1/4 cup
  5. Cumin seeds - 3/4 tsp
  6. Chaat masala - 1 tsp
  7. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  8. Lemon juice - 1 to 2 tbsp
  9. Sugar - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - 2 tbsp
Method
  1. Peel, wash and dice both potatoes.
  2. Pressure cook diced potatoes for one whistle.
  3. Pressure cook diced sweet potatoes for two whistles.
  4. Give a standing time to the pressure cooker before opening the lid.
  5. Set aside the contents & allow to cool.
  6. Heat oil in a pan; add cumin seeds & let it splutter.
  7. Add salt, red chilly powder & saute for few seconds.
  8. Add the cooked potatoes; stir fry on high heat for two minutes and transfer to a big bowl.
  9. Add chaat masala, chopped green chillies, sugar & toss.
  10. Add lemon juice & chopped cilantro.
  11. Mix well & serve.
NOTE
  • Adjust lemon juice according to taste.
